From his time spent exploiting the sub-driven rave of early tracks, through to his heavy-hitting live show and the club-ready machine-funk of his earlier works, Drums Of Death, the alter-ego of Scottish musician Colin Bailey, is synonymous with original, personality-driven dance music.
Drums of Death gave Civil Music its first release, 2008’s single sided, limited edition picture disc DODFUCKSUPANESCORTTUNE before joining Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard and his Greco-Roman label to release his debut album ‘Generation Hexed’.
Obsessed with developing a deeper and darker sound, tailored for the dance-floor. D.O.D returned to Civil Music to release his critically acclaimed ‘Waves Trilogy’, three EPs (and three more remix EPs) of ecstatic electronics displaying it’s makers love for techno and house music. D.O.D subsequently launched his Live AV show in 2012 with a BBC Maida Vale session solidifying his role as purveyor of heavy, club-focused music.
A talented writer and producer Drums of Death has as worked with the likes of Paul Epworth, Gonzales, Peaches, Yasmin and Azealia Banks, ensuring that, as he should be, he is aligned with some of the most creative artists out there.
